John Allerdyce ([personal profile] xp_pyro) wrote2003-08-29 02:54 pm

Hey, hey, hey...look who's here.

Yeah, it wasn't my idea of a good plan either, but luckily, the Powers That Be put me in a coma, and dragged me here. Because hey, they're the good guys and that means they get to do anything they want in the name of truth, justice and a free parking space.

For those who are new to our little saga, here's a recap of previously on All My Mutant Children: I used to be evil. But I've been shown the error of my ways thanks to losing my volition (being unconscious and all) and now I will probably repent, hallelujah, praise the Lord.

I bet my holidays were more exciting than yours.

So, I'm in medilab, I'm okay. I don't know if I can get out, because they might have changed the PASSCODES on the DOORS. Even if they do let me out, if you see some guys walking around in leg irons, that's probably me.

Edited to say: Bobby Drake, this is all YOUR fault.

Free parking space is highly overrated these days.

And better unconcious than in a body bag. Which is what would have happened if we'd gotten there a bit later than we did.

I wouldn't be so sure about that if I were you.

In fact, let me make it clear and all - I'm in a generous mood tonight.

Your so-called cavalry wasn't there to make sure you got out. They were there to make sure you didn't.

Well, there was this whole museum field trip thing, remember? And when something went wrong, the Prof froze the entire museum - well, all the mundanes - so we could get out of there without causing a problem or having people playing lynch the mutant.

So, it's perfectly fine to remove people's free will say, if it manages to convince mundanes that mutants aren't so bad at all.

And why did the Professor have to do that in the first place? I seem to remember hearing something about what went wrong... Remind me. I can't quite recall.

And there was no "convincing" anyone of anything in that event. And I'd like to know how you intend to apply this reasoning to the esteemed Mr. Lensherr ensuring your death to further his cause.

That's not the point. I think what we're looking for is a friendly game of 'the ends justify the means' which is of course, what you lot go all spastic at Magneto over.

No, there wasn't any "convincing." The Prof just froze people there and removed their capacity to choose for themselves and act on their choices.

Sounds real kind hearted, to me.

I'm tired, John. My arm hurts. And we still don't know if -

You're awake, and obviously you're just fine. So unless there's something else you want to talk about, I'm going to bed. The doors aren't locked. They never were. One way or another. If you want to go back so he can kill you off, that's your choice to make.

We had a chance to keep that from happening, and that's the choice we made. The rest is up to you now.

Well, that's bastard fucking odd, because the report I've got to write is about the what Magneto might do with the technology he stole from an R&D base that specialised in weapons tech research, not genetic experimentation. Are they nice boys? Probably not. Where they engaged in humans rights abuses, or fucking over mutants for fun and profit? No.

I really don't give a fuck about your freedom of choice, or whether you've been used or lied to by Magneto, Charlie, or anyone else in the big bad world, but for god's sake don't go around assuming that you know what you were doing, because it only makes you look stupid.

You do not want to be mature? Well John I can see why Magneto would have wanted you off his team then. Magneto is nothing but serious, why would he want someone who wants to act like a petulant child with him?

How you act is your choice of course. And if you want to push away the people who care about you that is also your choice, but do you really want this?

If you ever want to talk I would be happy to.
